This festival is not celebrated at a single venue. The Big Day Out Festival is all about the rock and electronic music as well as international acts. This festival tours two countries: Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, and, Goal Coast) and New Zealand (Auckland).
Initially, in 1992, The Big Day Out was held only in Sydney with bands including Nirvana apart from many other national and international bands. In the following years, the festival organizers decided to make it a touring festive treat and included the other cities.
This festival generally books stadiums in cities mentioned above and sets up the stages for international as well as national bands as small distances. Unlike other music festivals, this festival starts at 9:00 in the morning and winds up before midnight. Audience can purchase food and liquor from stalls inside the stadium only. They are not allowed to bring anything from outside.
Tickets for the 2008 Big Day Out for different venues are already sold out. You can check the official website for tickets available in a particular city. As of now, Sydney, Gold Coast and Melbourne are house-full.

And in case you don’t get the tickets, don’t be disappointed. The organizers of the festival always release the DVD of the festival after its completion.
