Naeba, located near Mt. Fuji in Japan, hosts an annual rock festival called Fuji Rock festival. This festival has its organizers as Smash Japan. It continues for 3 consecutive days and offers a stage for Japanese as well as international musicians. The venue has four stages: The Green Stage, the White Stage, the Red Marquee, the Orange Court, and Field of Heaven.
Set in a forest, Naeba features a hilly landscape. You have to walk a lot. The tents are scattered throughout the hillocks. Also, these are substantial distance among the stages. So if you are going from one stage to other, you may well use the landscape as a deterrent to the fatigue by the walk.
The festival in 2006 started Friday, July 28th and went up-till Sunday, July 30th. It featured artists including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Happy Mondays, Jet, Sonic Youth, Snow Patrol, The Hives, KT Tunstall, Jason Mraz, Madness, Scissor Sisters, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Gnarls Barkley, and Denki Groove, among others.
The 2007 festival commenced on July 27th and went on until July 29th. The bands included The Ataris, Beastie Boys, The Chemical Brothers, The Cure, Iggy Pop & The Stooges, The John Butler Trio, Justice (French band), The Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Group, Ratatat, Simian Mobile Disco, and many more
